In 2016, I was granted the Doctoral Grant for Teachers by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). My PhD project focuses on speech perception training. Dutch students are trained to perceive difficult English sound contrasts. Before and after training, tests are administered to look at the effects of perception training on several language skills, namely speaking, listening and word recognition.
