Michele graduated in 2019 with a BSc in Geological sciences at the University of Milano-Bicocca. In 2022 he completed the MSc Earth Surface & Water at Utrecht University, with a specialization in Hydrology. As of January 2023, Michele is part of the ERC-funded project "Balancing clean Water and Energy provision under changing climate and eXtremes (B-WEX)", under the supervision of dr. Michelle van Vliet and prof. dr. ir. Marc Bierkens. His work especially focuses on quantifying the energy use of the water sector, with the aim of predicting the energy requirements to provide clean water to a growing population and alleviating water scarcity under climate change.
