Marloes van Moort is assistant professor at the department Language, Literature and Communication. She studies cognitive processes involved in reading comprehension. She is interested in the cognitive processes involved in monitoring of one’s understanding while reading and the underlying neural processes using various research methods, such as behavioural studies, eyetracking and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). She is also interested in how readers process false information, how readers can utilize their own background knowledge to protect themselves against false information and how monitorprocesses during reading affect readers memory for textual information.
