Dr. Michaela Schok

Lecturer
Clinical Psychology

As a psychologist (PhD) I have expertise on increasing resilience in people, especially after stressful or traumatic events. People have a natural ability to adapt to abnormal circumstances. Not everyone is aware of this inner strength. My mission is to increase this awareness in people at work or in their private life due to stressful life circumstances. I have experience in treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma and dissociation. My interventions are based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and EMDR. My research expertise focuses on coping with (posttraumatic) stress, meaning making and resilience after adversity in veterans and refugees/ children.
