Marios graduated with honors from the Integrated Master’s program at the Department of Civil Engineering, Division of Hydraulics and Environmental Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2021. His Diploma Thesis involved creating a Groundwater (GW) Flow and Transport model dataset using Flopy/Modflow, which was used to train Machine/Deep Learning algorithms for groundwater pollution source identification and monitoring network pseudo-optimization.

From 2022 to 2024, he worked as a Groundwater Modeller (GWM) at WSP in the UK, where he developed his skills by interacting with regional models that combine Surface-Water (SW) (4R) and GW (MF) components. In July 2024, he began his PhD titled “Hydrological Modelling of GW-SW Interactions” at Utrecht University, part of the WaterScape project. This project's goal is to quantify the impacts of climate change scenarios on water availability and develop solutions involving modelling, water systems, and regulations.
