Marc is strategic business developer (0.2 FTE) within the “Towards a circular economy and society-hub”. Main focus is developing the circular economy hub and helping scholars from the faculties Geosciences, Beta sciences and Law, Economics and Governance with research proposal and network building. The Circular Economy hub is a platform for scientists of Utrecht University and stakeholders to jointly contribute to the transition to a sustainable circular economy and society. Two themes were chosen to strengthen the focus of the hub:
• Systemic changes as a key challenge towards circular economy and society
• Plastics in a circular economy
The CE hub is looking for cooperation with other research institutes, companies and governments on a national and regional level.
Marc works closely with Esther Haak (grant advisor for the CE Hub) who helps to identify and create funding opportunities. They both participate in the CE Hub team.
As an experienced circular economy professional and network builder Marc can give strategic advice on themes related to Circular Economy and Sustainable Development, help strengthen research proposals and building consortia and networks.
Till 2019 Marc was working for the ministry of Infrastructure & Watermanagement, DG Environment as national program manager circular economy. Currently Marc is working for MVO Nederland, an networkorganization focusing on the contribution of leading Small&Medium Enterprises in the transition towards a sustainable economy. His main focus is stimulating circular business models using his experience and network in circular economy.
