Marieke de Bakker works at the Students and Academic Affairs Office as deputy director and head of the Department of Students.

As head of the department, Marieke is responsible for strategic policy advice to the Executive Board and faculties in the area of student affairs, for student guidance and student services at the university level and for contacts with study and student associations. 

The Student Department is one of the three departments within the Students and Academic Affairs Office. More than 60 enthusiastic colleagues work in six teams and provide students with cross-programme services to help them get the most out of themselves and their time at the university: International Student Admissions, Student Support, Student Life and Mobility, Student Counselling, Student Development and National Programme for Education.
