Lars Janssen is a PhD candidate at the History of International Relations section of Utrecht University. He obtained his BSc at Leiden University (2018), and his MA with distinction at Utrecht University (2020). 

His research delves into questions of how international politics and international law shaped each other throughout the nineteenth century. He specifically focuses on the region Latin America, where European empires and Latin American countries developed unique ways to employ international law.
