Lloyd-Leonard Bastiaan Albert Opdam (Harderwijk, 2002) has been a member of the University Council since 1 September. In this role, he serves as a permanent interlocutor for the Executive Board and is a member of the Committee on Research, Education and Student Affairs (OOS). He also acts as the contact person for the umbrella organisation Federation BOCS and for University College Roosevelt. Opdam places strong emphasis on the importance of freedom of speech and academic freedom, and seeks to build bridges between the university and wider society. In addition, he maintains regular dialogue with Jewish students and staff, advocating for a safe academic environment.
