Trained as an economic geographer in Hannover (Germany), I have previously worked on a research project about dynamics of technological change and the co-evolution of different technological fields. These interests for technological and industrial dynamics and their spatial consequences also show in my current teaching activities at the Copernicus Institute. Another area that has interested me for a long time is the future of work and how automation and digitalization will change working environments as well as peoples' places of work and residence.
In terms of methods, I am mainly trained in quantitative empirical research, but have recently gained experience in working with qualitative data, as well.
