Christl de Kloe is a visiting PhD researcher at the Institute for Cultural Inquiry (ICON), Utrecht University, and a doctoral research in the Department of Gender Studies at Linköping University, Sweden. Her research focuses on the mediation of sexual subjectivities in relation with femtech technologies. Drawing from postphenomenological theory, critical- and feminist phenomenology, and feminist technoscience, she critically investigates how technologies co-shape the body, self-knowledge, and sexual pleasure.

Christl’s academic background is in Media and Cultural Studies. She graduated cum laude from the research master Media, Art, and Performance Studies and holds a BA in Language and Cultural Studies, both from Utrecht University. Previously, she worked as a lecturer in Media and Cultural Studies and Communication and Information Sciences at Utrecht University. Her work has been published in the peer-reviewed journal Porn Studies, and she is the editor of the book “Denken in het Donker met Greta Gerwig” published by ISVW Uitgevers.
