Katrijn Opstoel MSc

PhD Candidate

Katrijn Opstoel studied Physical Education and Movement Sciences at the University of Ghent, in Belgium. From 2013 to 2016, she worked as a researcher and teacher for the HAN University of Applied Sciences (HAN Sport and Movement). In November 2016, she started as a PhD student for the Department of Education (Faculty Social and Behavioural Sciences). 

The next four years her research will focus on 'Creation and evaluation of a stimulating learning environment for responsibility-based physical education in elementary school'. 

The project is part of the Special Chair 'Pedagogy of Physical Education', founded by the Dutch Association for Physical Education (KVLO), Utrecht University and the 6 academies for teacher training (ALO's). 

She will be supervised by Prof. dr. Kristine De Martelaer (Utrecht University, Vrije Universiteit Brussel), Prof. dr. Jan van Tartwijk (Utrecht University), Prof. dr. Leen Haerens (Ghent University) and dr. Frans Prins (Utrecht University).
