As a teacher of evolutionary biology, I am coordinator of several evolutionary courses in the second and third year of the Biology bachelor. In my teaching, inspiring students is my main focus. Not only by provoking their curiosity during lectures, but also by enthusing them for the wide range of possible fields that biology offers. After all, biology rarely remains within the confines of the lecture hall or laboratory: the public impact and outreach we have as a university is just as important as the subject matter. In addition to my teaching, I study conservation biology, specifically in regard to tropical rainforest restoration under various historical land uses. The link between research and education enables me to supplement theory with daily practice, which I believe is indispensable for a scientific education.
