Kiara completed her BSc in Zoology at the University of Pretoria in South Africa in 2021. She then graduated with an MSc in Marine Science from Utrecht University in July 2024. Towards the end of 2024, Kiara was employed as a temporary research and education assistant, supervised by Prof. dr. Marjolijn Haasnoot and Dr. Frances Dunn. As of January 2025, Kiara is a PhD candidate working on global delta adaptation under the supervision of Prof. dr. Marjolijn Haasnoot and Dr. Jaap Nienhuis.
