Since September 2020, Jos Slabbekoorn works as a PhD Candidate at the Utrecht University Department of Sociology and the Interuniversity Center of Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS) in the Netherlands. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Sociology and his research master's degree in Sociology and Social Research (cum laude) at Utrecht University. His dissertation focusses on the role of personal resources (i.e. human capital, social capital, cultural capital and health) on social benefit dependency. In particular, he is interested in intersectional differences and unemployment scarring effects on social benefit dependency. For his dissertation he will use panel-data and administrative micro-data from Statistics Netherlands (CBS).
