Dr. Hans Vollaard

Hans Vollaard is associate professor in political science. His current research focus is on representative democracy in municipalities, provinces and water boards. In addition, he studies the internationalisation and Europeanization of sub-national governments. He also did research on the regulation of cross-border healthcare in the European Union,  European disintegration, Euroscepticism in the Netherlands, and Dutch Christian parties.

His teaching in the Utrecht University School of Governance includes the courses Comparative Analysis of Political Systems (undergraduate programme), Decision-making and policy (master Governance and Policy) and supervising BSC theses and MSc theses.

 


Verschenen in februari 2023: het eerste uitgebreide onderzoek ooit naar de kwaliteit van waterschapsdemocratie. Samen met Harmen Binmema (USBO) samengesteld. Met mooie bijdragen van onder meer Herman Havekes, Karlijn Landman, Bas Denters, Erik Mostert, Madelinde Winnubst, Dik Roth en Diederik Smit.
