Dr. Jiamin Ou

Dr Jiamin Ou is an assistant professor interested in climate and energy transition. Her work focuses on the transition towards Responsible Consumption and Production (Sustainable Development Goal 12), by studying the environmental inequality hidden in the global trade network, consumer behaviour and their diffusion via social networks.  She is currently working on the “ENgaging Residents in Green energy Investments through Social networks, complExity, and Design” (ENRGISED) project funded by NWO. She is also one of the cooridnators for an incubator grant under the "Pathway to Sustainability" research theme of Utrecht University-"People's Energy- The role of Energy Communities in accelerating the energy transition".

Jiamin received her PhD degree from the University of East Anglia, UK in 2020.  She is an author of more than 25 peer-reviewed papers in Nature Climate Change, Nature Sustainability, Nature Communications, Joule, Environmental Science & Technology, Applied Energy and others.  She was a receiver of the Mikahlevich Award by International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA). She was awarded the Green Talent by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for her studies on responsible production and consumption. She was a visiting scholar in the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) in 2022.
