Dr J.M. (Michael) Milo read law at the University of Groningen. He headed the student law clinic (rechtswinkel). He engaged in research on public interest law at the Center for Public Representation, Madison, Wisconsin (1991). He taught law at the University of Maastricht where he obtained his doctorate in 1997. Since 1995 he is associate professor at the Molengraaff Institute for Private Law, Utrecht University.

He has taught (honours) courses on property law, tort law, contract law, comparative law, procedural law and legal history, to law school students, Dutch and foreign, attorneys and judges, in Utrecht. He supervises yearly some 20 students in writing their masterthesis
