Jorik completed the masters Private Law (specialisation liability law) and Law & Enterprise (Recht & Onderneming - specialisation labour law) at Utrecht University. Aditionally, he completed the honours programme 'Graduate Honours Interdisciplinary Seminars'. 

After completing his master degrees, he joined the EUropean Parliament in 2017 where he worked on the Pan-European Pension Product (PEPP). After the completion of the PEPP, he joined Fidelity International as a pension specialist and as a specialist in public policy. 

Jorik contributed as an expert to some reports from the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels.
