Jurriaan Jacobs is a Ph.D.-student at the Utrecht University School of Governance (USG) and works as a policy advisor / researcher for Impact Foundation - the Dutch national knowledge and advice centre for psychosocial care concerning critical incidents, partner in Arq centre for psychotrauma. His Ph.D.-research focusses on optimizing post-disaster psychosocial support after disasters and crises, with special attention for the role of professionalism. Within this research academic knowledge fullfills in a practical need for improvement of services after disasters and crises. The international component of this research is strongly present, for which a close collaboration is in place with several international partners.
