Hans de Kruijf was appointed Assistant Professor at the Department of Cultural Anthropology in 2008. He received his PhD in August 2006. His dissertation concerned an analysis of the (re)production of diasporic Indianness among Hindu and Muslim descendants of indentured labourers in globalized Guyana. He is currently involved in a multi-sited exploration of Muslim affiliation in Indo-Guyanese circles in Guyana, New York and Toronto.
