Dr. Jacqueline Evers-Vermeul (1973, promotion Utrecht University 2005) is an associate professor at the Department of Languages, Literature and Communication at Utrecht University, The Netherlands. She studies the representation, production, comprehension and teaching of text-structural aspects of discourse. She uses a variety of methods to study adult connective use (corpus-based analyses), students’ understanding of school texts and examination questions (on-line/off-line reading experiments), and children’s connective acquisition (visual-world experiments, analyses of longitudinal corpora).
