Dr. Evaristo is a tenured assistant professor in environmental sciences (Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development). In 2017, his PhD dissertation was awarded Best Doctoral Thesis Award in Water Security Research by the Global Institute for Water Security, Environment and Climate Change Canada, and Saskatchewan Water Security Agency. In 2018, he received the Mowat Award from the School of Environment and Sustainability (University of Saskatchewan). The award is named in honour of the late Canadian author, Farley Mowat, whose novels describing Canada’s north peoples and wildlife received international popular and critical acclaim. Jaivime was a Dean’s Scholar and recipient of the Benjamin Franklin Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2021, he was elected as a member of the Philippine-American Academy of Science and Engineering (PAASE). In 2022, he was certified as a Professional Hydrologist by the American Institute of Hydrology. He is also Associate Editor of Vadose Zone Journal and Sustainable Earth Reviews.
