After having obtained a BSc and MSc in Pharmacy at Utrecht University, Julia van Dommelen started as a PhD Candidate at the Spaarne Gasthuis hospital pharmacy in Haarlem. This PhD project is in collaboration with the division of Pharmacoepidemiology & Clinical Pharmacology at the Utrecht Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS). Her research concerns the appropriate use of expensive oncological drugs (i.e., targeted therapy) in clinical practice. Within the PhD project, there is special attention to the mapping of treatment trajectories. From September 2024 onwards, she will be a postgraduate student for the MSc in Epidemiology.
