I am a PhD researcher in the UNMAKING research project. UNMAKING studies whether, when and how agricultural grassroots initiatives unmake unsustainable institutions and practices that are deeply ingrained in capitalist societies.

In my PhD project, I am studying agrifood collectives in the Netherlands, Spain and Belgium. These collectives and the networks they organise in can be understood as political actors aiming to disrupt capitalist practices as part of a societal transformation towards socially and ecologically just futures. In these networks, I focus in particular on democratic praxis as a vehicle for social-ecological transformation, by combining insights from radical democracy, eco-anarchism, degrowth, cosmopolitics and ecological democracy. The main academic communities my work connects with are political ecology, degrowth, and critical geography.

I hold master degrees in Political Ecology from AgroParisTech (France) and in Agronomic Sciences (bio-engineering degree) from the University of Liège (Belgium). Next to my academic work, I am part of the editorial team of Degrowth.info.
