Lawyer since 2010. As of 2016, Joost works independently under the name “Legal Beetle”.

Co-founder Vereniging voor AI-Advocaten (from 2022).

Together with Anton Ekker, Joost founded the VAI-A, the only association for lawyers in the Netherlands who specialize in AI & law.

CEO Digibeetle (from 2023)

As CEO from May 2023, Joost will be responsible for the PR and sales of Digibeetle, an online knowledge platform for legal data & AI professionals.

Affiliate researcher UU (from 2023)

Joost works as affiliate researcher for Utrecht University, more specifically the Data School.

Member Data Ethics Committee Fryslân (DKF) (2024).

Joost is a member of the Data-ethyk Kommisje Fryslân (DKF).  The DKF is an independent committee that can be called upon by boards in Friesland to answer ethical questions.
