Jan Bakkes (1950) is a seasoned expert in worldwide and regional outlooks on environment and development. He worked with OECD, World Bank and PBL, helped UNEP to invent its Global Environment Outlook system and helped EEA to expand their outlooks and underlying network.

Jan is retired but continues to serve as Vice-President of The Integrated Assessment Society (TIAS). TIAS supports the community of developers and users of integrated assessments, through webinars and newsletters. 

For the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development, Jan coordinates and co-authors studies on urban and river basin development in view of environmental, social and economic change.
