Dr. Iryna Susha

Iryna Susha is an Assistant Professor at the Innovation Studies group of the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Faculty of Geosciences. Her research focuses on how organizations from different sectors can collaborate and leverage data to address societal challenges of the 21st century and contribute to sustainability goals.

Iryna obtained her PhD from Orebro University (Sweden) and has published in digital government and information systems journals and conferences. At the Copernicus Institute, Iryna (co-)leads a special interest group on Digitalization & AI for Sustainability (DAISY). 

Iryna is currently supervising two exciting PhD projects: Dwayne Ansah on the topic of data donations for social good and Olafur Thorarensen on the topic of algorithmic decision systems in healthcare. 

As a teacher, Iryna leads the course "Digital Innovation" where the students develop a critical understanding of the impacts of digital innovations on the economy and society.
