Iris Schuitemaker is a PhD candidate and focuses on the topic 'Just transitions to climate resilient agriculture in India'. She studies the societal implications of innovation in agriculture and is interested in the impact of innovation on inequality and (water) governance. 

She holds a research master from the University of Amsterdam in International Development Studies, and has specialized in natural resource governance in the Global South. Iris previously worked as a lecturer in Human Geography at the University of Amsterdam, and in Anthropology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
