Marc Londo is senior guest researcher in the group Energy & Resources. His work focusses on the policy and strategy dimensions of the development of biobased options and systems. Next to modelling studies and techno-economic assessments on biobased chains, he also works on other strategy related issues in the energy transition, such as small-scale PV solar roll-out and decarbonation of the building sector. Next to his guest position at the Copernicus Institute, he works as Substantive Director at the NVDE, the Netherlands Association for Renewable Energy (www.nvde.nl). During the first half of 2020 and in 2021, he was also hired part-time by the Dutch Climate Agreement Progress Board ('Voortgangsoverleg') to help develop this Platform that organises boader societal dialogue on Climate matters, safeguards the progress of the Climate Agreement and communicates on this.

Earlier, he worked at the unit Policy Studies of ECN, the Energy research Centre of the Netherlands, where he led several strategy and policy projects for EU and Dutch policy maker, and co-ordinated ECN’s technical support to the negotiations for the National Energy Agreement. Before joining ECN he worked as a consultant in sustainable energy and integrated rural development. He holds a PhD in biomass and land use and graduated in environmental chemistry.
