Femke van Noorloos is associate professor of International Development Studies and Human Geography & Planning (Faculty of Geosciences, Utrecht University). 

Femke is engaged in co-creating research, teaching and impact around urban housing, new cities and megaprojects, focusing on large-scale urban projects such as new cities in relation to land and housing; as well as innovations and policies in incremental housing and citizen-led urban development. She has worked across Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Europe, co-creating knowledge across the global North / South divide. She is also interested in dimensions of migration/mobility, tourism, and intersectional gendered inequalities within these urban dynamics. She has supervised a variety of PhD students and postdocs related to these projects and interests. 

Femke is co-director of the International Development Studies Master's programme and teaches in the Human Geography and Planning Bachelor's programme and in the Master's programmes International Development Studies and Global Urban Transformations. She has also taught for a variety of other programmes and audiences e.g. UCU and Summer Schools for professionals. She is also engaged in Shared Value Foundation.
