Hetty Grunefeld is senior educational consultant and staff developer. Since 2002 she is programme leader of the UU Educational Leadership programme, which is offered to senior academics and education leaders at Utrecht University since 2000 and since 2010 to education leaders at other Dutch universities. 

She is a member of the management team of Educational Development & Training, partner of the Centre for Academic Teaching and Learning. In 2020 she defended her PhD thesis on: Developing Expertise in Leadership for Educational Change in Research-Intensive Universities.

Hetty's expertise is educational leadership, curriculum development, quality enhancement and staff development. Her main activities are:

Academic Development

• Programme co-ordinator for the Educational Leadership course of the Centre for Academic Teaching. This is a year-long programme for senior academics. The main themes are curriculum development and innovation processes. 
• Courses and workshops for the (senior) University Teaching Qualification and other courses for teachers in Higher Education.

Consultancy

• Quality improvement projects: developing a quality enhancement system, curriculum evaluation, alumni surveys, preparation for accreditation visits.
