Unconsensual sexting is a topic that attracts a lot of media attention. Not surprising when you consider that the consequences for victims are similar to those of traumatic experiences such as sexual assault and rape. Unwanted sexting not only has major consequences for victims, but can also have far-reaching consequences for the perpetrators. With the research project Let's talk about sexting! we investigate which factors explain this form of digitised juvenile delinquency. We also investigate whether the current programmes to reduce unconsensual sexting are sufficiently in line with these factors.
