Research statement:

Complex fluids play important role in various aspects of daily life and industrial processes. Learning to think effectively about complex fluids and dynamics of such systems enables one to understand and contribute to a wide range of interesting and important problems. My research spans  various areas such as complex fluids (soft matter) & colloidal physics and microfluidics. I intend to extend our current understanding of the physical mechanisms governing dynamics and phase behaviour of soft matter systems evoking fundamental physical chemistry, microfluidics and wetting physics. Building on this fundamental understanding, I develop soft materials capable of evolving processes involving complex fluids beyond the state of the art. Through careful design of constituents physiochemicial properties and elaborate combination of external elds (in hydrodynamic, optical, magnetic and electric nature), I create novel, functional, composite materials capable of directing critical unit operations such as crystallization into desired speci cations. Through fundamental understanding achieved by controlling soft matter and critical industrial processes, I want to contribute to interdisciplinary sciences and engineering in extension the well-being of the society.
