I'm an Assistant Professor in English Linguistics and teach research methods and statistics, as well as language variation. The latter is also what I focus on in my research, especially the following questions:

  • How is language variation processed and stored in the brain?
  • How do queer speakers use language variation to place themselves in the social landscape?
  • What's going on with General Northern English?

Furthermore, I research how researchers can most accurately and inclusively ask participants about their gender.
