At University College Utrecht, I teach International Relations and Political Theory. I also teach self-formation, social innovation, and community-based learning at the Utrecht University Honours College. I am the initiator and coordinator of the Navigating Insecure Futures programme as well as the programme leader of the Young Innovators Programme. 

My research interests lie at the intersection of power (gender, postcolonialism, and human–nature relations), phenomenology, and social action. My most recent publication is The Psychology of Power and Showing Up Differently in the Climate Crisis (Cambridge Scholars, 2025). I am currently working on a book about politics and everyday life, with a focus on the political role of emotions, opinions, truth, and social community.

I regularly give workshops and lectures for students, educators, and wider audiences on topics including:

• masculinity, gender and queer theory
• social power and fragility
• inclusivity, consent, and social safety
• pedagogy, subjectification, and self-formation
• human–nature relations in the Anthropocene
• the politics of everyday life
• climate grief
