Gabriël van Beusekom (he/him) is an Assistant Professor in Interdisciplinary Social Science at Utrecht University. His research focuses on the mental health, social relationships, and social position of sexually and gender diverse people. He has a specific interest in minority stress, social inequality, and intersectionality, including the experiences of transgender and non-binary people and LGBTQ+ people with a religious or cultural minority background.

In 2018, he obtained his PhD from the University of Amsterdam with research on gender expression, sexual orientation, and mental health. Previously, he worked at the Netherlands Institute for Social Research, where he conducted research on the lives and well-being of LGBTQ+ people in the Netherlands.
