Erik-Jan van Dorp is assistant professor of public administration. He is fascinated by the tensions between democratic responsiveness and administrative responsibility. That's why he studies the work and behaviour of senior civil servants in comparative perspective. A central question is: hoe do senior civil servants navigate conflicting loyalties?
Erik-Jan's research is co-financed by a VENI-grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO). His research is also enabled by the European Commission (COST ACTION) and the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations.
