Guanqin He is a PhD candidate at the Institue of Cultural Inquiry ICON, Department of Media and Cultural Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Utrecht University.

Guanqin He has a background in literature, media, gender and cultural studies. She recevied her BA degree in Literature at Beijing Normal University in 2019 and her MSc degree in Gender, Media and Culture at London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2020. She is currently a PhD candidate, within her CSC-funded project 'Digital Crossroads in China: Chinese Women Negotiating Migration, Urbanization, and Digitization', focusing on the intersection of gig workers, gender, migration, and digital media. Her research interests focus on gender, media, migration and cultural studies.
