I am a PhD candidate focusing on wildlife ecology and landscape connectivity in tropical forest ecosystems. My research explores how human-modified landscapes influence species movement, habitat use, and ecological processes, with a particular emphasis on orangutan conservation in Borneo.
My research investigates ecological networks and wildlife corridors in fragmented tropical landscapes by integrating field data, UAV-based remote sensing, and spatial modeling approaches. I apply thermal drone surveys to detect wildlife and improve population monitoring, alongside UAV-based habitat assessments to evaluate forest structure and quantify habitat quality based on the availability and distribution of orangutan food and nesting trees.
Through this work, I aim to support evidence-based conservation strategies by identifying priority areas for restoration and enhancing connectivity for threatened species, particularly the Bornean orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus wurmbii).
