Since 2025: co-chair of Scientific Liaison Panel of POLARIN, an international network of polar research infrastructures and their services aiming at addressing the scientific challenges of the polar regions. The task is ranking and funding of proposals for access to infrastructures and online access to scientific data and metadata to a single data portal for 7 data infrastructures, 2 observational networks and 10 research stations and their observatories.

Since 2024: ambassador for the Dept. Earth Sciences of the TRIPLE (Team spirit, Research, Impact, Professional Performance, Leadership, Education) model implemented at Utrecht University. 

Since 2024: member of the National Ocean Decade Committee, consisting of independent ocean experts who will foster (inter)national collaboration within the UN Ocean Decade framework

Since 2024: chair of the committee for scheduling sea-going research expeditions with the Dutch Fleet 

Since 2023: science team member of SWAIS2C Sensitivity of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet to 2 degrees Celsius, start drilling operation December 2023, ICDP funded project.

Since 2023: member of the Science Advisory Group (SAG) of the ICDP (International Continental Scientific Drilling Program) and Land2Sea drilling.
