I am a visiting PhD student from Politecnico di Torino (Italy) currently studying at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Innovation Studies Section.
My background in Technology Transfer and Startup support provided me with experience (and a lot of questions) regarding how startups based on novel technologies (or Deep-Tech startups) emerge and develop, therefore I study them from different perspectives.
From a Technology Transfer point of view, I study the impact of Proof of Concept on the subsequent commercialization of technologies;
From an Entrepreneurial Finance point of view, I study the decision-making processes of new forms of Venture Capital investing in early-stage technology-based initiatives (like venture builders)
From the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem development and dynamics point of view, I’m studying whether different factors of the framework have the same importance for different typologies of startups.
