Dr Federica Agostini is Assistant Professor in the International and European Law Department at the School of Law. Her research predominantly focuses on the role of law in mobilising capital markets toward sustainability goals. She also specialises in corporate governance and EU financial regulation.
Before joining Utrecht University, Federica worked as a Research Associate at the European University Institute's Florence School of Banking and Finance, where she contributed to research and executive training activities in the area of sustainable finance, climate risks and green bonds. Additionally, she served as an external consultant for the European Central Bank on a training programme related to the relevance of climate and nature risks for central banks and banking supervisors.
Previously, Federica worked as a Research and Teaching Associate at the University of Glasgow and at the Italian National Central Bank. She also acted as a consultant for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on the design of policy products to advance green finance.
Federica holds a Ph.D. as well as an LL.M. in Corporate and Financial Law (with distinction) from the University of Glasgow. She also graduated cum laude from a combined Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Law, specialising in EU and Comparative Law, from the University of Trento.
