Florian Kunneman is Assistant Professor at the department of Languages, Literature and Communication at Utrecht University. In his projects he applies language technology to extract relevant insights from communication on social media and human-chatbot interactions in a diversity of case studies in collaboration with societal partners. His work at Utrecht University is aimed at improving how governmental institutions communicate to the general public. He is particularly interested in the pragmatic aspects of communication and the role of cognitive and cultural context for understanding the meaning of an utterance.
