Dr. F.A. (Françoise) Dekker
Researcher
I am a researcher in the Protein Chemistry of Disease group at Utrecht University. My work focuses on the role of protein aggregation in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson’s disease. I develop new methods to detect and measure amyloid fibrils in patient samples, with the aim of improving diagnostics and supporting therapy development. Additionally, I have a strong interest in valorization, which involves translating fundamental research into practical applications that create a positive societal impact.
