Evi Wubben is a PhD candidate at Utrecht University in the Marine Palynology and Palaeoceanography. Her research focusses on reconstructing equilibrium climate sensitivity and polar amplification during the warm middle Miocene (Miocene Climatic Optimum) by quantifying temperature, CO2 and ecological variability from marine sediments selected across a pole-to-equator transect. She applies techniques including a combination of organic geochemistry (biomarker palaeothermometry), inorganic geochemistry and palynology.

Her research is performed within the project ‘Evolution and variability of climate sensitivity and polar amplification during Cenozoic warm climates’ funded by the European Research Council (ERC).
