Els Broens is director of the Veterinary Microbiological Diagnostic Center (VMDC) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The VMDC is embedded in the Division Clinical Infectiology of the Department Biomolecular Health Sciences. Els is Diplomate of the European College for Veterinary Microbiology and finished a PhD on livestock associated MRSA in pigs. Her expertise is in clinical microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, zoonoses and one health.
