Evania studied Information Systems and Human-Media Interaction (Interaction Technology) for her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Indonesia and the University of Twente. For her master’s internship and thesis, she worked on information retrieval systems for the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision and the ARIA VALUSPA project. In 2025, she defended her PhD thesis on the social effects of behaviors conveyed in social interaction between humans and virtual humans, a collaborative project between the Human-Media Interaction group at the University of Twente and the Cognitive Psychology unit at Leiden University. Outside of her studies, she has worked as a software tester and software engineer in companies and research environments.

At the Centre for Digital Humanities, she works in the Portal Development team and the Research Software Lab team. She can help with software development for academic and non-academic staff, as well as programming and data-related support for researchers. For example, she can assist with programming for information retrieval (natural language processing), virtual reality, and software/web applications using Python or C#, as well as data preprocessing, analysis, and reporting using Python or R.
