Elena Candellone (she/her) is a PhD Candidate in Network Science at Utrecht University's Department of Methodology and Statistics, supervised by Dr. Javier Garcia Bernardo, Dr. Peter Gerbrands, Dr. Mahdi Shafiee Kalamabad, and Prof. Dr. Daniel Oberski. Her research sits at the intersection of network science and computational social science, with a particular focus on signed networks, online polarization, and financial crime networks. She holds a Master's degree in Physics of Complex Systems (double degree across Politecnico di Torino and several French institutions) and a Bachelor's in Physics from the University of Turin. She has been actively involved in the broader scientific community as a committee member of the Women in Network Science Society, treasurer of the Young Researchers of the Complex Systems Society, and co-founder of the Complexity and Networks COmmunity and REsources initiative.
