The climate, nature, and the well-being of people are intrinsically connected and continuously changing. Therefore, to successfully tackle climate change and biodiversity loss an adaptive and integrated approach is required. In COMBINED, the consortium that my PhD research is part of, we study the interactions between climate, nature, and people in landscapes with grasslands, forests, and urban nature. I focus on sustainable grassland management. Grasslands cover a large part of the Netherlands and have significant potential for positive impact, multi-functional, species-rich grasslands are beneficial for both people and nature.
